Following the conferral of the 500th master’s degree awarded through the UF CJC Online program, my team launched our #500AndBeyond campaign. Our goal was to not only highlight the students who led us to this milestone but also to celebrate their Gator Nation support system that assisted in their accomplishments. Additionally, the campaign marked the establishment of the UF CJC Online scholarship fund.

To promote the launch of #500AndBeyond, our team began to strategically highlight program alumni and current students. I headlined content creation and utilized Adobe Photoshop to create social media graphics, including the ones above, to showcase our students.
Beyond in-feed social media posts, we worked to encourage alumni participation on social media by launching official #500AndBeyond GIFs and stickers available on Instagram and Snapchat. Collectively, these tactics have received over half a million views on GIPHY, Instagram and Snapchat. Screenshots of these GIFs alongside their individual view counts are below. To view these GIFs on Snapchat or Instagram, simply search “UF CJC Online” on either platform.

As graduation approached, I worked with my team to develop a final video highlighting the #500AndBeyond campaign that would be streamed during the University of Florida College of Journalism and Communication’s Fall 2020 commencement. Utilizing Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects, I produced a video to promote the success of our students as well as our scholarship fund.
To this day, UF CJC Online is still promoting the #500AndBeyond campaign with hopes of driving donations to the scholarship fund to ensure future graduates of the program have equal access opportunities to succeed.
